We had the pleasure of interviewing Daniel Doan, co-founder of Black Shell Media, LLC (SanctuaryRPG: Black Edition, Overture).
1. How did you come up with the idea of Overture?
With Overture, I wanted to create a game that was a fusion between Diablo, Dark Souls, and Realm of the Mad God.
2. Which project did you find more challenging, Overture or SanctuaryRPG: Black Edition?
SanctuaryRPG: Black Edition was much more challenging, as I had to fight scope creep every step of the way.
Developing for consoles is definitely not out of the question, although for the time being, the expensive licensing costs are a bit prohibitive
4. Was your Kickstarter experience for Overture a positive one?
Yes! We were thrilled that people from all around the world believed in our project enough to support us with their hard-earned dollars!
5. And finally, if you could be any protagonist from any video game that you’ve ever played, who would you be?
I’d probably be Maxwell from Scribblenauts. The ability to draw anything and have it come to life would be ridiculously awesome!
You can find out more about Black Shell Media on their official website. You can download Overture and SanctuaryRPG: Black Edition on Steam right now.
