*I hear the doorbell ring and open the door to see a giftbox. I take it inside to my room. I read what is on the card attached to the ribbon. It reads that the gift is to be sent to me, and the ones who sent me the game is a company called Jackbox Games. I open the box and see a whole collection of games, and a paper from the company wishing me fun*
Oh right! Hello! The game that I am reviewing now is called Jackbox Party Pack 6. Sounds very fun, right? It sure is!
Now, I need to search up Jackbox Games and see who they are. Ah!
Jackbox Games is a small and mighty studio in Chicago, Illinois! They must have been founded in 1995, as they reveal that they’ve been making fun party games since then. They actually went by another name pre-2013, before becoming Jackbox Games. From what they said, a “Party Pack” is a collection of easy-to-play party games any of your friends, family, acquaintances, etc. can do. Fortunately, the website also has instructions on how to play!
There are five games in total contained within the party pack, but I’ll only cover three. The other two are for you to see for yourselves!
——
The first game is Trivia Murder Party 2! The story behind this game is that there have been a recent string of murders happening in a particular hotel. Wouldn’t you know it, you (and possibly your friends and family members too) find yourself in the dreaded hotel.
This is how the game works: After joining the game, be it just you or with others, a mysterious voice will call out to you, announcing that it’s time to play. It also gives a quick tip of cutting all emotional attachments before the game begins. From there, you must correctly answer the questions asked by the voice, and the topics range from US History of World War II to the melting point of chocolate (PSST! Did you know that it melts at 60 degrees Fahrenheit? I found that out the hard way!)
Those who get a question wrong are forced to the Killing Room, which varies by number. In each of the rooms, the contestants must play a minigame to survive, unless the game is “Loser Wheel”, in which case, there are no survivors. The games vary from Chalices, where the contestants must determine which half of the four are not poisoned, to Dictation, where the unlucky players must quickly type in everything the voice says, getting in at least 40 percent of it.
This is basically Kahoot with Dangan Ronpa vibes.

The next game is Role Models. This game is much more of a personality test, than a deadly trivia. Unlike Trivia Murder Party 2, more than one player is required, with the minimum amount being three players.
Before the actual test itself begins, players must choose between five categories: Jeopardy! Olympic Sports, Famous Cats, Very Specific Life Choices, and Things Found in the Dryer. Afterward, the players must match each one of them with the role that fits them best. To do that, for each option in the category, the players vote who they think fits that option best. If there is a tie, there is an assessment review.
I’ll stop there. Honestly, it sounds like it takes a lot longer than taking any quizzes of Quotev, but it’s fun with friends and family, so…

The next game is Joke Boat. I will give a very quick description: players must compete with each other to be the best comedian on a fourth-rate (yes, that’s what it says) cruise ship.

Dictionarium is a wacky word game in which you compete to create definitions for totally made-up, never-before-seen words (3-8 players), and the fifth game, Push The Button, is a space-age secret identity game in which you try to hunt down alien interlopers while taking part in bizarre writing and drawing tasks (4-10 players).

I'm the kind of guy who LOVES games with rich storytelling elements, but still finds enjoyment in the other games that don't have those. I am always intrigued by how new and upcoming game developers either bring something new to the table or take something existing and bring an exhilarating twist to it.
