KOEI TECMO Surprise Drops Non-stop Roguelite Hack ‘n’ Slash Action with WARRIORS: Abyss, Available Now

With WARRIORS: Abyss, a roguelite hack ‘n’ slash action game that is currently accessible on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via Steam, KOEI TECMO America and developer Omega Force unveiled a brand-new take on their iconic WARRIORS franchise today. Starting on February 13, 2025, WARRIORS: Abyss will also be accessible on the Nintendo Switch.

The heroes’ souls have been called to the underworld in WARRIORS: Abyss. Players are informed that the ancient evil creature “Gouma” has been freed and has seized control of this terrible region by the underworld’s king, a child who goes by the name “Enma.” The heroes plunge into the abyss swarming with undead at “Enma’s” request!

Players fight through waves of adversaries from all sides as they descend into the abyss where the arch-villain, “Gouma,” waits. The game is set on the levels of a randomly created “hell.” Players encounter new individuals along the route and come across options to bolster their team. Combining these choices can have potent consequences and provide up a range of tactical options. Players must develop fresh strategies to succeed because the characters and things will vary with each playthrough.

By fusing the thrilling sensation of 1 vs. 1,000 action with roguelite elements, like randomly generated stages and items, and boosting player strength through choices, WARRIORS: Abyss offers a new way to play a WARRIORS game. This allows for a unique experience with every playthrough and encourages endless hours of replayability.

In WARRIORS: Abyss, players can recruit heroes they come across in addition to controlling their preferred hero. Players can summon these companions in combat by using the “Summoning Heroes” action, which has more than 100 distinct characters. Players will be able to use “Unique Tactics” when called upon, which will greatly improve their squad as a whole. Because of the unique qualities of each “Summoning Heroes” and “Unique Tactics” action, there are an infinite number of possible strategies depending on the combinations and actions selected. Players can use up to seven active heroes in combat, including the character they are controlling. There are more than 100 characters to pick from, therefore there are an incredible 16 billion possible battle style combinations!

Furthermore, following the game’s release, KOEI TECMO and Omega Force intend to frequently offer additional characters for free. The “Hack ‘n’ Dash Edition” also includes SAMURAI WARRIORS and DYNASTY WARRIORS 3 costumes. There are 200 costumes in all from the DYNASTY WARRIORS and SAMURAI WARRIORS series in the “Hack ‘n’ Dash Ultimate Edition.”
