Are we tired of resorting to online games to counter the frustration of lockdowns, curfews, and other restrictions? Perhaps, but not too much yet. The market of online entertainment keeps growing, both in the US and Canada. Judging by the enthusiasm that drives fans to use a bet365 Canadian code, online gaming’s success still has a long way to go. When you run into jewels like Little Nightmares, you understand why. Blessed be Bandai Namco Entertainment for their decision to go ahead with publishing a reprise and Tarsier Studios for developing it. The brand new Little Nightmares II takes the surreal atmosphere of this creepy adventure a level further.
The new hero is a boy named Mono. His head is hidden in a bag for some mysterious reason. His journey begins in a trap-infested forest and leads him to a creepy old house. The disquieting ornaments he finds inside are rotting pieces of meat and mannequins, probably the remains of previous victims. Mono’s other discovery there is a little girl who is being held hostage in the basement. He finds her busy playing with a music box and frees her by smashing the door with an ax. The little girl at first runs away, but after he finds her upstairs, the two begin to cooperate for survival. When they find out that the house owner is a violent Hunter, they have to fight his attempt to kill them with a shotgun. Mono and the little girl find a spare shotgun in a small shed and manage to shoot The Hunter back and escape. They use a large discarded door as a raft to cross a river and reach The Pale City.
Here begins a series of encounters with all sorts of monsters. The first batch is the Bullies, a bunch of living dolls with porcelain heads taught by The Teacher in the local school. The Teacher resembles Elastic Man in his ability to stretch her neck endlessly. Mono needs to save the little girl again after the Bullies capture her, then the two kids escape the haunted school. A heavy rainstorm hits them in the street, where the little girl finds a yellow raincoat and puts it on. At this point, the player who is familiar with Little Nightmare I realizes that the co-heroine is no other than Six from the first game.
The third challenge for Mono and Six make is a dark hospital inhabited by living mannequins. The only weapon that can stop them is light. The two children escape to the lower levels and run into a giant creature called The Doctor. He is somewhat similar to a spider, with a bulbous shape and a habit of crawling across the ceiling. Mono manages to chase him around and tricks The Doctor into entering an incinerator, where the monster ends up burning alive.
The delightfully dark and horrifying artwork and the truly creepy and insane atmosphere will be enough to keep any player glued to the game. There s a recurring theme of Mono being drawn to television sets. The screens always show a long hallway closed by a door with an eyeball symbol. Mono can enter the TVs as portals, but before reaching the door before he’s drawn back to the real world. Find out the meaning of these passages by following Mono all along his dark and terrifying journey.
