Before checking in to the haunted hotel of the Luigi’s Mansion 3 game for the Nintendo Switch system when it launches on Halloween, check out this weekend’s Tetris 99 8th MAXIMUS CUP for a chance to earn an in-game theme inspired by the spooky new adventure.
The Tetris 99 8th MAXIMUS CUP event runs from 12 a.m. PT on Oct. 25 to 11:59 p.m. PT on Oct. 28. To compete, Nintendo Switch Online members* just have to play the Tetris 99 online mode during the event period. The higher players place after each match, the more event points they will earn.
Once 100 event points are reached, players will earn a new theme, including background art, music and Tetrimino designs inspired by Luigi’s Mansion 3.
Tetris 99 features an online competitive mode exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online members*. Owners of the digital version of the game can purchase the optional Big Block DLC, which adds several offline modes.
A physical version of Tetris 99 is also available. For a suggested retail price of $29.99, the physical version includes the game, all DLC and a 12-Month Nintendo Switch Online Individual Membership**.
