Time to gird for battle! Collegiate StarLeague (CSL) is bringing Wizards of the Coast’s iconic digital card game to its stable of incredible collegiate eSports leagues. For the first time, Magic: The Gathering Arena will be among CSL’s offerings with a scholarship prize pool of $50,000 up for grabs, the largest in CSL this year. Collegiate players and teams representing their schools in the United States and Canada who are ready to shock opponents into submission can register now.
Free to enter for all North American college students and teams, players will form teams of three, leveraging their most powerful decks to compete in the MTGA league across a sixteen-week season. The best players across all colleges will light up the stage at the live CSL Grand Finals in April 2020, with the winners heading across the pond to face off against the UK winners in a first-of-its-kind international exhibition match.
Throughout the season, CSL will provide exciting new content for all Magic: The Gathering Arena fans, including deep analysis of decks, match breakdowns, top player interviews and much more. All the action will be streamed live on the CSL Twitch channel!
In weekly matches, teams of three will face off against others from their respective geographic region in best-of-three sets with standard-legal decks. The first team to cast down two of their opponents wins the match, and moves on to the next round!
Players and teams representing their schools in the US and Canada who are ready to cause other collegiate planeswalkers duress can sign up for free here. Registration closes October 13, with the first matches beginning on October 19. For full rules and explanations, check out the rules page.
