The first original IP from European independent developer Studio Mechka, action-packed Metroidvania Marko: Beyond Brave, which blends Slavic folklore with Disney cartoons from the ’90s, will be available on Windows PC via Steam on September 17, 2024. Entropy has broken free from its confines in Marko: Beyond Brave and is on a mission to take over the planet. Put yourself in the position of the game’s main character, Marko, a young warrior who discovers a hidden power. Equipped with a massive greatsword and an even more massive mustache, Marko will face off against legendary creatures, brave ancient horrors, and form strong alliances in an effort to bring equilibrium back. Enter a fascinating journey where courage is your best weapon, where you will have the ability to control elemental forces and make decisions that will affect the fate of the world.
Exquisitely rendered in a classic 2D frame-by-frame manner, the world of Zagora is filled with vibrant, colorful sceneries that are all based on Slavic folklore. Explore verdant forests and dilapidated castles, engage in combat with corrupted beings, and avoid devious traps. You must leap, slice, and shoot your way past formidable opponents and enemies that are modeled after Slavic folklore, including Vila, Koz’el, Urgl, Vlashko, and the Tree of Life.
You’ll explore hundreds of chambers on this enormous non-linear terrain, each as peculiar and unusual as the next. Discover lost riches, fabled relics, and collapsing monuments that tell a historic tale. Join forces with characters and creatures you come across; they will be essential to overcoming the obstacles. Create, enhance, and manufacture the tools and weaponry required to lead you to triumph.
