After accounting for both digital and physical preorders, in addition to preliminary internal sales data, ATLUS has revealed that Metaphor: ReFantazio had sold one million units worldwide on the first day of its release. The game launched on Xbox Series X| S, Windows, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam. It has received favorable reviews from the media and as of right now, has a metascore of 93 for PlayStation 5, 92 for Xbox Series X, and 91 for PC on Metacritic.

The Metaphor: The Collector’s Edition and Physical Standard Editions of ReFantazio are only available for purchase on a few platforms, whereas the Digital Deluxe and Digital Standard Editions are currently accessible on all platforms. With the free Prologue Demo, players can explore social aspects, see the city, and experience the early game narrative of Metaphor: ReFantazio. With widespread praise from fans, the Prologue Demo, which is currently accessible on all platforms, has been downloaded over a million times in just its first two weeks. The demo’s progression is carried over into the full game, allowing players to maintain the relationships they formed when they first set foot in the United Kingdom of Euchronia.

- Brazil Game Show Booth – Up until October 13, 2024, SEGA and ATLUS will be showcasing a range of royal activities at Brazil Game Show. Visit Booth #P007 at Expo Center Norte in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to see what Metaphor: ReFantazio has to offer. A valid ticket for the Brazil Game Show is needed to enter the booth.
- PAX AUS 2024 – Until October 13, 2024, visit SEGA booth #1420 in the Expo Hall at PAX AUS 2024 in Melbourne, Australia, to see Metaphor: ReFantazio. Access to the booth requires official PAX AUS 2024 tickets.
- 3D Billboard – In the center of Times Square, New York City, keep an eye out for 3D billboards displaying Metaphor: ReFantazio!
- New York Comic Con – The “Awaken 2024” campaign will make its third and final stop at New York Comic Con (NYCC) in New York City. A skinned campaign bus will be circling the Javits Center with free promotional goodies for fans to take home while supplies last. The online contest will run until October 25, 2024 at 9:59 AM PT, with the appearance at NYCC scheduled for October 18, 2024.
Metaphor: ReFantazio, the first fantasy role-playing game for ATLUS, was conceptually created by director Katsura Hashino, character designer Shigenori Soejima, and composer Shoji Meguro. Entering a large fantasy world full of disturbing mystery, players must overcome their anxiety. Players will need to overcome challenges and build relationships with friends in order to take control of their destiny after being thrust into a kingdom that is on the verge of collapse.
