Mini Motorways, by developer Dinosaur Polo Club, is more than just a fun game where you can build your city. But it’s more of a critical thinking game than what you put on the map and what comes up when you build the roads and manage the city. Mini Motorways is like solving a very large puzzle to get the highest points you can get but with roads.
The game starts with a very interesting tutorial not knowing anything about how to play. The first thing I did is create a road tile that will connect it to the building. But when another house comes out with a different color I started to know that car is not going to the building and I started to figure out the pattern of the game. When the tutorial ended, Mini Motorways starts with 3 options for cities to choose from, and see names of very popular major cities in the world such as Mexico City, Tokyo, Seattle, and Beijing. But I could only choose one of the 3. Then I chose the city that I wanted to do. It did the same thing as the tutorial where you create road titles for the car to reach the destination with the same color as the building. But as time flew by more houses were put on the map, a lot of cars were getting into traffic jams with other cars, and more destinations I got when you add more road tiles and other materials to the city. And then when multiple cars of the same color failed to reach the building on time the game was over and started to know how to play. Plus to unlock other maps you have to get at least 300 destinations from one of the maps to unlock other maps. My highest score was around 800 destinations. The game can get competitive and crucial when you see cars with different colors trying to get out of the way to make their stop and hoping I don’t shut down the city to start over.
Mini Motorways to me is a very exciting and strategy-based game for anyone that wants to be challenged in how many many destinations you can make to get each color car to the building. I love how the game is set up with different popular city names from all over the world and the music of this game is comparable to a puzzle-solving game so that gamers who wanted to play Mini Motorways can concentrate on the game with that type of music.
The only thing negative about this is anyone who can take the time to study each city multiple times and be very critical and do a lot of thinking for the player to set the record that they want to accomplish that might be hard to do.
Overall, Mini Motorways is an amazing strategy puzzle game and I recommend this to anyone who loves puzzles and critical thinking games and wants to be challenged to make a city without being shut down.
