Nintendo has released a minor firmware update for the Wii U. If the console is in Standby mode, SpotPass data can be downloaded, and updates can be downloaded so that they are simply installed the next time the console is turned on. It is also being reported that there will be a major update this Fall. This major update is expected to include substantial new features and speed/performance increases.
