Explore Forbidden Lands
The Hunter’s Guild organizes its resources and establishes the Forbidden Lands Expedition Team to look into Arkveld, the enigmatic “White Wraith,” that attacked Nata’s hamlet after saving the young child Nata on the edge of the supposedly deserted Forbidden Lands. The player’s Hunter, accompanied in the Expedition Team’s Avis unit by Alma the Guild-appointed Handler, Gemma the dependable Smithy, and the Hunter’s dependable Palico, is fully voiced for the first time in the series.
Players can experience a variety of biomes with dynamic identities that are fluidly transitioned between cutscenes and gameplay when the Expedition Team first arrives in the Forbidden Lands. The ecosystems of the Oilwell Basin, Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, and more quickly change from thriving “Plenty” seasons full of life to harsh “Fallow” seasons when monsters battle for scarce resources. The abrupt change in terrain known as the “Inclemency” has a significant effect on the local fauna and forces hunters to modify their strategies.
An Entire New World
Alongside series staples like the recognizable Rathalos, the game offers a wide range of new creatures, from small-species herds to massive monsters, some of which prowl the Forbidden Lands in groups. Each animal that hunters come across in the wild has a distinct habitat, as well as distinct behaviors and attacks. Each region’s apex predators, including Rey Dau, Uth Duna, and Nu Udra, are signaled by an Inclemency period that changes their surroundings. An nimble new mount that is indigenous to the Forbidden Lands, the Seikret allows hunters to chase monsters through the constantly changing landscape, carry out tasks like gathering materials while moving with the Hook Slinger, and quickly switch between two weapons while hunting.
With a variety of new moves, special powers, equipment, and more, the beloved action-packed gameplay of the Monster Hunter series is back and more thrilling than before. Find a monster’s weak spots and use the new Focus Mode to properly aim attacks and guards. Then, use Focus Strikes to deal a lot of damage to wounds. Certain weapons can also deflect monster assaults by employing Power Clashes, which can physically defeat a monster after a fierce battle, or Offset assaults, which counter monster strikes with their own attack. You can play alone, join up to three other players from any system via cross-platform online multiplayer, or get help from important story characters with the new Support Hunter NPC ally function as you become proficient with these new features to combat and take in Monster Hunter Wilds’ rich narrative.
