Intro: Keep it Moving! Move or Die by developer Those Awesome Guys is composed of extremely fast paced competitive matches; that contain various mini arcade game options. Move or Die delivers a unique take on the classic battle royale by giving it’s users numerous gameplay modes and it’s fast play system.
Gameplay: One of the main features of the game is the fast gameplay. All matches last up to a minute but on some occasion they lasted for only seconds. Although many matches were extremely limited, it still imposes a very highly competitive game every match. The movements of your character are limited to only jumping and running but the outside facets of the game make up for the lack of character mobility. The main feature is the online gameplay. This feature lets users play multiple matches consisting of over 30 playable game modes.
Attention: Move or Die is unique because unlike many games it demands your attention and not just asks for it. In order to stay alive your character has to keep moving. There is a meter that tracks your movements (I call it the attention meter) and once you stand still the meter goes empty resulting in you losing. Also, users have to follow the game objective for that specific match. On top of the constant movement the developers do a wonderful job at immersing the user into the game. The vivid background colors and the unique aesthetics of the game just make it a sight to see. However this display can somewhat take up the whole screen. At some points the visuals and other items on the screen are more notable than the actual characters so it can make it somewhat easy to get lost within the game.
Verdict: I think Move or Die delivers in very unique areas which causes it to seem as a crossover from a classic battle royal and arcade game. The outward appearance of the game looks skimpy but by no means is lacking in the content. However, there are limits on simple aspects you would expect from a game of this prestige. The addition of such a fast play game while having such items in the game is a factor as to why this game lacks clarity. These flaws make Move or Die just short of being a really great game.
Score: 8/10
Pros: 30+ Game Modes, Fast Matches, Online Play, Immersing, Competitive, Design, Attentive
Cons: Small Items on screen, Limited Movements, Sensitive, Online Bugs
