NEBULOUS: Fleet Command Welcomes Second Playable Faction in Major Update

Hooded Horse and Eridanus Industries are excited to announce that the popular simulation-heavy tactical space game, NEBULOUS: Fleet Command, is getting a major update today via Steam Early Access. This patch not only introduces a new faction, but also a host of unique mechanics, weapons, and ship types to take interstellar war to a whole new level.

NEBULOUS: Fleet Command Welcomes Second Playable Faction in Major Update

Setting the stage for NEBULOUS’ eventual single-player campaign (coming in a future update), the Outlying Systems Protectorate (OSP) is a breakaway state that splits from the Shelter Alliance after a major diplomatic incident. The OSP has no navy of its own, so they’ve had to seize countless civilian ships and rapidly convert them into makeshift vessels of war.

The OSP, also known as the Protectorate faction, is designed to play distinctly from the Alliance. The OSP features unique strengths and weaknesses utilizing innovative tactics and equipment in order to beat the technologically superior Alliance. The particular nature of the OSP and its fleet has brought a wealth of new content for the game, including but not limited to:

  • 6 new ship hulls
  • 18 new weapons
  • New electronic warfare (EWAR) and sensor modules
  • New missile types

The update also introduces many new paradigms to NEBULOUS: Fleet Command, including side-mounted casemate weapons, randomized ship layout, steerable directional long-range radar, mines, armor-melting plasma, unguided rocket launchers, decoys that appear as ships to enemy radar, and more.

To celebrate the OSP’s arrival, NEBULOUS: Fleet Command is available at a 25% discount for the first time as part of a Steam Midweek Madness event from today through March 7 at 10 am PT.

NEBULOUS: Fleet Command is available on PC via Steam Early Access for $19.99 / £17.99 / 19.99 EUR / ¥2480.00.
