Greetings Gamers, Greg, from Gaming Cypher, here to talk about Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, for PS5 bringing, yet again, the young and old’s beloved characters from the Nickelodeon universe together, in an exciting and engaging fighting game. As a fan of both Nickelodeon and classic brawlers, I was pleasantly surprised by the depth, fun, and evolution from the last entry. Here are some of the highlights that make this game a must-play for fans of all ages:
Expanded Character Roster: The game boasts an expanded character roster, including both new and classic Nickelodeon characters. From iconic figures like SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star to newer favorites like the characters from The Loud House, there’s a diverse range of characters to choose from, each with their own unique moves and playstyles. Powering up everything they did before actually making characters feel more unique and diverse from character to character.
Smooth Gameplay and Controls: Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 offers a smooth and responsive gaming experience on the PS5. The controls are intuitive and easy to grasp, making it accessible for both seasoned players and newcomers to the fighting game genre. The combination of well-designed levels and fluid animations adds to the fell of combat alone or with friends. In the previous game, this was one of the big problems for me – every character seemed too rigid and so laggy in combat it did not feel like it should. The lack of momentum in fighting just made me fight with predictable moves or resort to button mashing. So many of these problems have been ironed out offering something that Smash has taught me to expect as a minimum, but while I’m comparing a classic and one of my all time favorites, I do have to add that this did finally add some spice into a classic game genre with the slime meter and use.
Diverse Game Modes: Whether you prefer to challenge yourself in a single-player campaign or engage in thrilling multiplayer battles with friends and family, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 has something for everyone. In this type of game any kind of solo version of the game is appreciated so players like me who want to keep their skills sharp and do something other than battling in an arcade style or training have something to mix it up with now and then. But the big but is that its always going to be all about the multiplayer experience. So its good to know that this pretty seamless online multiplayer as well as even better couch co-op.
Much improved Visuals and Nostalgic Sounds: The game’s visuals are vibrant and lively, capturing the essence of the Nickelodeon universe in stunning details the predecessor lacked. From the meticulously designed stages to the faithful character representations, every element is a nostalgic nod to the cherished shows of the past. Additionally, the soundtrack features a mix of catchy tunes, familiar sound effects, and voices that evoke a sense of nostalgia and excitement.
Overall, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 for PS5 is a delightful and engaging gaming experience that successfully captures the essence of beloved Nickelodeon characters while delivering an enjoyable brawling experience. With its diverse character roster, smooth gameplay, and nostalgic charm, this game is a must-have for fans of all ages, whether they grew up watching Nickelodeon or are discovering these characters for the first time.
Pro tip: Watch all of Avatar: the Last Air Bender – it’s worth it.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 for PS5 definitely earns is 9/10.
