Observer: System Redux, is a psychological horror game that was released on the last gen console back in 2017, developed and published by Bloober Team. Observer: System Redux is set in a futuristic cyberpunk world, which has been through artificial and natural calamities including the rise of powerful organizations. Players play as the role of detective that utilizes some futuristic tools, to identify the crime scene and follow the clues to the suspects.
As a detective, we are trying to use our tools of different visions, i.e., Bio Vision and EM Vision to analyze all the items either biological or technological in the area. Each area includes some kind of puzzle to be solved and hidden artifact/collectibles to be found. Also, the game lets you interact with other people as witnesses to figure out anything additional to be found. The background audio, soundtrack and the environment overall give Observer: System Redux a very eerie feeling.
Even though the game is simply a version published on the newer generation consoles, the difference in gameplay makes Observer: System Redux a very unique console experience on the Playstation 5 system. The use of Dual Sense controller’s haptic feedback gives player an actual feel as if living through the world of the Observer. Also the other best thing about the game is graphics that are enhanced with utilization of RayTracing. The game looks an absolute best with the addition of this new graphic technology.
Overall, Observer: System Redux is an amazing game that feels even better with the use of Ray Tracing and DualSense Controller adaptation for an enhanced horror feel.
I will give Observer: System Redux a solid 8.5 stars.
