Hooded Horse and Mohawk Games are pleased to announce a new DLC pack coming to historical 4X game Old World later this month. The Sacred and The Profane add-on will enhance the game’s religious themes with new narrative content and gameplay features. We’re also pleased to announce that from today, Old World will feature Brazilian Portuguese as a new language, offering localised support for even more of our loyal fanbase.
Launching next week on January 16, 2023, The Sacred and The Profane pack will feature 350+ new events, over ten new character traits, six new historical figures with their own event chains, as well as religious clergy characters with their own missions and projects, religious dissent and persecution mechanics, and over ten ‘cult’ city projects. You can read more about the new add-on here.
Old World is a critically acclaimed, character-driven historical 4X strategy game from Soren Johnson – the former lead designer of Civilization IV – and the team at Mohawk Games that focuses on family over faction. You must lead one of several noble houses vying for power in the ancient world.
Key features of Old World include:
- Thousands of narrative events to encounter as you explore the ancient world.
- Character driven, where you guide a dynasty through the generations as they strive to keep control of one of eight ancient civilizations.
- Historical scenarios, narrative campaigns, and an open sandbox to cater different playstyles.
- Innovative new 4X mechanics, such as the Orders system, randomised technology trees, and a deeper resource system.
- Over a year’s worth of free content updates and patches since its original launch on the Epic Games Store in 2020.
The Heroes of Aegean pack released (check out our review!) alongside the game’s Steam debut in May 2022 and introduced six new historical scenarios focused on Ancient Greece and its surrounding cultures, along with the brand new Hittites faction for the main sandbox campaign.
Old World is available for PC via Steam.
