Introduction/Information about game
The game, Paragon: The Overprime, is a game that originally released on Steam on December 5th, is planning to release on PlayStation 5 in the future. This game is a free team based TPS (Third Person Shooter) action MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) where players will use the unique skills of their heroes and work together with their teammates to conquer the Prime Battlefield. While the release of this game on PlayStation 5 is yet to be determined, the developers of the game, Netmarble, held a closed beta on PlayStation 5 between September 13 and September 25. I was able to be a part of this closed beta and play the game to give my impressions on it. After playing the closed beta of this game, I would say that the developers are progressing at a good pace for the game.
Gameplay
The gameplay for the PS5 closed beta of Paragon: The Overprime’s felt pretty good for me. In this MOBA game, the objective is to take over the enemy base on the other side of the battlefield. The player, with a team of 4 other players, will collaborate and work together to achieve this goal. At the start of the battle, players will be able to choose their class first. After choosing their class, they will choose a hero that is part of their chosen class. Once the map loads, players will collaborate where each of them need to go. Once everyone is in position, the battle officially starts. The goal, as stated before, is to take over the enemy base on the other side of the map. Players must work together with their teammates to defeat their enemies and achieve this goal. One way players can help achieve this is by defeating enemies to level up. Leveling up will give players the ability to upgrade and gain new skills as they are playing. As I was playing the beta, there were little to no problems or glitches that I ran into. I believe the UI could use some more work, however, because to me it felt too similar to as if I was playing the game on PC (which I assume they were basing this version off of their PC version of the game). Other than this one suggestion, I feel that this game’s closed beta shows that the development is progressing very smoothly for the PlayStation 5.
Final thoughts
Overall, I believe the Paragon: The Overprime PS5 closed beta testing was a successful beta test. I had experienced little to no problems when playing the closed beta. As I said earlier, I believe that the development for the game on PlayStation 5 is progressing at a good pace. If development for this game continues to progress smoothly, then I believe players will be able to enjoy the game when it comes out on PlayStation 5. If players feel that they cannot wait until then, they can try this game out for free on Steam.
