As a hopelessly marooned outcast on the unforgiving continent of Wraeclast, Path of Exile players like yourself will need all the weapons you can get your hands on—if you are to survive the unending deluge of quests before you, that is. Right from the get-go, you will find yourself desperately vying for the most powerful items and weapons available—anything to give you an advantage on the battlefield. From PoE items to orb and weapon combinations, even the most minute of details can give you the leverage you need to survive the harsh landscape and inflict the most damage on the battlefield. Combine them wisely and immortality is yours for the taking.
There are, however, few weapons that are more lethal than Goddess Swords. You’ll need to know as much as you can about them if you want to do the most damage possible on your path to redemption. Here’s a look at three different Goddess Swords you can wield, and what you can do with them,on your long and winding journey to immortality.
Attack & Deflect: The Goddess Bound
This unique Whalebone Rapier combines the perfect balance of offense and defense. However, despite being a one-handed sword,it does not allow players the luxury to arm themselves with shields—which can be disappointing for defensive-minded warriors. Moreover, this weapon also prohibits the use of secondary, one-handedmelee weapons. The good news? This nasty rapier boasts a weapon range of 12, giving you the advantage of attacking from a relatively safe distance, while dealing physical damage of (14.8 to 16.8)-(66.6 to 75.6). And did we forget to mention that it deals a decent elemental damage of 3-7 with a 5.50% critical chance rating as well?
To wield the Goddess Bound Whalebone Rapier, you’ll only need to be a level 7 exile with a dexterity rating of 32 or more.
Slash & Burn: The Goddess Scorned
Is fire your default element? If so, The Goddess Scorned is the type of weapon you’ll want to wield against your foes in PoE. Equipping this sword can unleash the inner pyromaniac in you as it causes ignited enemies to burn 50% faster and increases fire damage per second by a whopping 100% rate, ultimately proving that Hell hath no fury like the Goddess Scorned! See if you don’t find yourself screaming “Burn, baby! Burn!” while you flail this deadly beauty at would-be attackers.
Being a one-handed sword, it will give defensive-minded players the opportunity to carrya shield or wield a one-handed melee weapon for some extra offense. However, not everyone can wield this killer sword as it requires characters to be at least level 28. You’ll also need a minimum level of 46 for strength and 55 in dexterity.
Follow this vendor recipe to obtain this fiend of a sword:
- The Goddess Bound (20% quality)
- A white Elegant Sword (again with 20% quality) that features sockets that match those on the Goddess Bound
- One Chance to Ignite Support gem (at least 1% quality)
- And an Orb of Fusing
The Goddess Unleashed
What makes the Goddess Unleashed such a kickass sword is the fact that it packs one wallop of a punch on top of jaw-dropping aesthetics. One look at it instantly conjures up images of blood-heavy demon slashing, piercing, and hacking. Much like the Goddess Bound, the Goddess Unleashed is yet another one-handed sword that does not allow the simultaneous use of a shield nor the benefit of a secondary one-handed melee weapon. It more than makes up for this, however, as it features an impressive six linked sockets in which to place PoE orbs.
Though playerscan no longer craft this coveted unique Eternal Sword, it can still be acquired via trades in the permanent leagues. And why, you might ask, should you bother to trade for it? Well, here’s a list of reasons to convince you:
- (52.8 to 56.4)-(121.2 to 160.8) Physical Damage
- (7.20% to 8.30%) Critical Strike Chance
- And a downright insane +475 Accuracy Rating
For you to equip this sword, you’ll need to be a level 52 warrior boasting strength and dexterity ratings of 104 and 122 respectively.

While survival on the desolate continent of Wraeclast does boil down to the overall skill level of the player, having dependable weapons and tools certainly goes a long way. Be sure to arm yourself with these swords if you prefer close-quarters combat over sissy long-ranged attacks. Many are called to carry Goddess Swords, but few have the mettle to take up the gauntlet and wield them on the battlefield. Are you God or Goddess enough to do so? We dare you to take the challenge.
