Owlcat Games and Koch Media announced today that the classic isometric RPG, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous (WotR), will launch on consoles later this year with physical console versions published on Koch’s newly revealed Prime Matter label.
This is the second game set in the popular Pathfinder universe, following the release of Pathfinder: Kingmaker in 2018, which tells the story of a world overrun by demons and supernatural forces.
Today’s announcement coincides with the unveiling of more details on Drezen, a sprawling fortress with a pivotal role in the upcoming Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous campaign (seen in the video above).
A linchpin of the Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous story, players learn about the city early in the game as they interact with people who witnessed its siege and claim to be responsible for its loss 70 years ago. The Queen directs heroes to take back the fortress – by any means necessary – and the assault’s starting location is highly influenced by the choices players make and the advice they follow. The fortress changes constantly depending on the Mythic Path you choose and decisions you make throughout the game.
The PC edition launches September 2 on Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store with console versions shipping autumn 2021. The PC version will also be available on NVIDIA’s cloud gaming service with users able to stream the game on PC, Mac and NVIDIA’s Shield TV streaming players.
“As game developers we are always happy to bring our games to as many players as possible. We received a lot of questions from our fans and today we can officially confirm that Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is coming to consoles both digitally and in retail,” said Oleg Shpilchevskiy, head of Owlcat Games. “We are glad to continue our partnership with Koch Media and its newly launched Prime Matter label to bring physical console copies to the stores around the globe.”
