While at PAX East 2019, I had the pleasure of meeting with Daedalic Entertainment. Here are my impressions:
Cryofall:
Cryofall is a game developed by AtomicTorch Studio and published by Daedalic Entertainment. At PAX East 2019, we had a great time exploring this survival game. And we chatted with the developers of Cryofall about the game.
Cryofall is a multiplayer game, where players start off with a crash landing on an unknown location. Players need to survive by collecting and utilizing the resources around the land. We started off on a beach area and began to utilize the woods and organic resources to build tools and weapons.
There are different lifeforms and terrains as players progress. Players are able to research and craft advanced technology and weaponry, including industrialization. The game has so many different things to offer and we are just very excited to see what the full build will bring us. Cryofall is slated for this April for PC via Steam Early Access.
Felix the Reaper:
Felix the Reaper is a comedy puzzle game developed by Kong Orange and published by Daedalic Entertainment. Felix the Reaper, not Fix it Felix, is death himself. We tried our hands on Felix the Reaper at PAX East 2019.
Felix is more of a happy go lucky version of Death, who is always listening to music and dancing. At the same time, he performs the death sequences of humans. The game lets you solve the puzzle of death, by moving items and living beings from one place to another while the time is stopped. But the catch is that Felix can only move if there are shadows. And the puzzle to solve is how to move the shadow in a way that Felix can achieve these tasks. It had been a real fun experience for us where you have to interact with so many items and complete the task in a few moves as possible. Felix the Reaper will be available later this year on Steam.
Witch It:
Witch It redefines the traditional Hide and Seek game. The game is developed by Barrel Roll Games and published by Daedalic Entertainment.
While visiting the Daedalic Booth we had gotten our hands on Witch It. The game is both extremely fun, but strategic at the same time. Witch It randomly puts the player in either a Witch or Hunters team. Witches are supposed to hide from the hunters by utilizing their skills and assuming the shape of certain items and blending into the environment. Hunters are tasked with finding the witches by using their skills. It is so much fun while the entire Hide and Seek game unfolds, the situation keeps getting even more intense. Even though it is merely a simple hide and seek, the utilization of skills and the players strategic selection of transforming and utilizing a location is extremely important and can turn the tide of the game. Witch It is already available for Steam Early Access and is an online multiplayer, which can be played with your friends or other random players.
Iratus: Lord of the Dead:
Iratus: Lord of the Dead is another game that we tried over at the Daedalic Booth, developed by Unfrozen and published by Daedalic Entertainment.
Iratus: Lord of the Dead is a Darkest Dungeon inspired game. The game is a turn-based RPG, where we play as a necromancer who is trying to escape the dungeon. In order to do so, we need to defeat the enemies and use the body parts to create new monsters. Iratus: Lord of the Dead is unique in a way where you can combine different monsters in a team to create different combos and add a strategic finish to the combat.
In a way complex, Iratus: Lord of the Dead is an extremely brilliant dark dungeon game. Also the final goal on each level is to defeat the boss, and in doing so, you as the player, are provided with different paths. Once you choose a path you cannot go back or select a different path. As you kill difficult enemies you get better parts to create better grade monsters.
There is no announcement on a release date yet, but Iratus: Lord of the Dead will be available on PC, and is already available for players to add it to Wishlist on Steam.
