PAX East 2019: YSBRYD Games Impressions

While at PAX East 2019, I had the pleasure of meeting YSBRYD Games, publishers of World of Horror and N1RV-Ann-A. Here are my impressions:

WORLD OF HORROR:

World of Horror felt like an old school horror RPG. Developed by panstasz and published by YSBRYD Games.

The game provides with an introduction of the twisted horror world, as well as a backstory of the player. There are different branching stories and multiple playable characters. You go through the missions and achieve certain tasks, but World of Horror is extremely unforgiving as you cannot achieve one thing without doing another. World of Horror shows Japan but twisted in a way where at every turn you find one twist or another, including some ghosts and monsters.

One wrong choice and the game is over for the player. During our demo, we played through the same mission two times in two different ways. Players have to carefully make the choices before selecting any action. The game is going to be available later this year for PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

N1RV Ann-A:

While visiting YSBRYD booth at PAX East 2019, we were able to get our hands on another Indie game, N1RV Ann-A or you can say “Nirvanna.” The game is developed by Sukeban Games and published by YSBRYD Games.

N1RV Ann-A takes place in a futuristic cyberpunk world and is a sequel to critically acclaimed, VA-11 Hall-A. The player is a bartender on an artificial island located in the  Caribbean. The game is based on the customer requests –  players have to mix and match in order to create drinks based on the mood and preferences. This allows different dialogues to be added based on your preferences and achievements. N1RV Ann-A will be available on the PC through Steam as well as PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2020.
