I had the privilege of visiting Boss Key Productions in Raleigh, North Carolina last week to preview their upcoming game LawBreakers. I, along with other members of the media, was given a short presentation by Cliff Bleszinski and Rohan Rivas about the upcoming features of LawBreakers and what the game is all about. We were then introduced to the game in person and had the opportunity to play multiple sessions against each other.
Above is one of the gameplay sessions which I participated in – I went 17:1 and got the top score ;). After our gameplay session, we toured the studio and got to talk to concept artists, character designers, programmers, and animators to learn about the actual development of the game. Overall the trip was so much fun and I got to visit my hometown for the first time in three years, so the experience was very nice.
Built in Unreal Engine, the graphics for LawBreakers are amazing, but it’s the innovative gameplay mechanics that make the game stick out for me. I can’t wait to see the finished product, as the pre-alpha I played had me wanting to go back and play once again.
