Introduction/Information about Ra Ra Boom
Ra Ra Boom is a game that developer and publisher Gylee Games plans to release in August, 2025. This game is a 2D beat ’em up game where players will fight through different waves of enemies in a future overrun by rogue AI. I enjoy beat ’em ups. They are one of my favorite genres to play through. Playing through Ra Ra Boom was pretty fun. The gameplay, although simple, was very fun to mess around and play with. After playing through Ra Ra Boom, I would say that this game is a very fun beat ’em up with interesting ideas and fun combat.

Gameplay
The gameplay for Ra Ra Boom has a simple, easy, and fun combat system. At the start, players will get to choose between 4 different characters, and then they will jump straight into the action. They will learn everything they need to know straight from the start. The controls are very simple. Players have 4 different types of attacks. Light attacks, heavy attacks, shooting, and the ultimate attack. The light attack is a short and quick attack that can help build up one’s ultimate meter. Mashing light attacks on enemies will allow the player to do a combo string on enemies, stacking up big damage. This will be the player’s primary way of dealing damage, as well as building up their ultimate meter. The heavy attack is an attack where the player will lunge forward at the enemy, dealing big damage. When I was playing, I wasn’t using heavy attacks too much, as I found it was better just to use light attacks and combo strings. However, this was still a great way to close the distance and get up close and personal. Shooting is very self-explanatory. Players can shoot enemies from a distance to deal smaller damage. Shooting is also a great way to mess with explosive traps, having them explode when enemies are near. Finally, the ultimate attack is an area-based attack dealing major damage. In order to use the ultimate attack, players need to have their ultimate meter built up by at least one quarter. Of course, an ultimate attack will do more damage and cover more ground the fuller the meter is. This attack is amazing in an emergency as well. Using these different attacks at your disposal, turn the enemies into trash and blaze through bosses and levels like they are nothing.

Final thoughts
Overall, I believe Ra Ra Boom is a very fun and simple beat ’em up with interesting ideas. As I mentioned, I love beat ’em ups. They have always been one of my favorite genres of games to play. Playing this game was a ton of fun, and I was very glad I got to try it. If you are a fan of beat ’em ups or are looking for a simple, easy, and fun game to play, then I would highly recommend getting this game.
Ra Ra Boom releases for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via Steam this August. You can play the free demo right now, as well as wishlist the game.
