Red Bull Air Race – The Game gets a double upgrade: update and 2015 Virtual World Championship
Along with a brand-new single player campaign including all of the race locations of this year’s ongoing Red Bull Air Race World Championship, the 2015 Virtual Red Bull Air Race World Championship also offers the chance to win one of six tickets to the grand finale in Las Vegas, Nevada and to become Virtual Red Bull Air Race World Champion.
Salzburg, Austria – March 19, 2015 – Shortly after the start of this year’s Red Bull Air Race World Championship in Abu Dhabi, the virtual version of the fastest motorsport series in the world received a double upgrade. The successful smartphone racing game Red Bull Air Race – The Game, which is available free for iOS and Android, now offers all eight aerial racetracks of the ongoing world championship on three continents, new regional and global tournaments with phenomenal prizes, and more brand-new game content.
The new location in Chiba, Japan is now available as part of the single-player campaign, in which all game pilots can experience all of the races in the current world championship. The racetrack, which is an official venue in the series for the first time, has been accurately rendered in the game, and its demanding route waits to be mastered by gamers from all over the world. In all, there are over 140 events to be mastered in the racing classes Exhibition, Challenger, Master, and Super. As the game was completely updated for the current Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2015, scores from last season have been reset – just like during the real tournament – so players can battle it out for title once more. Players with In-game purchases will of course be reimbursed and receive an additional bonus, to equip themselves for the new season.
Another innovation affects the tournaments. In addition to the previous World Tournament, there are now also regional tournaments and the official 2015 Red Bull Air Race Virtual World Championship. With the start of racing in Chiba, Japan on May 16th and 17th, 2015, a virtual tournament will be held there and at the following five stops, and the winner of each will be invited to the grand finale of the official Red Bull Air Race World Championship on October 17th and 18th, 2015 in Las Vegas. Along with the season final of the real world championship, the victor of the virtual Red Bull Air Race World Championship will also be determined. In addition to being presented with a trophy at a meet-and- greet with the real world champion, the winner will also receive a tandem flight in an original Red Bull Air Race aircraft!
Another update to the game involves the Airplane Shop. Players can now purchase their own aircraft here or buy a new racer from 16 aircraft in four different classes.
About Red Bull Air Race – The Game:
Just like in real life, the action-packed Red Bull Air Race – The Game first offers pilots training in the “pilot camp.” The camp in Slovenia prepares players for the racing season and teaches the controls of the plane in numerous training units. The career mode, just like the real Red Bull Air Race World Championship, is all about winning the trophy on three continents. All the courses in the game reproduce the originals and are gradually unlocked. Sixteen different aircraft, each with special flight characteristics, are available for the action-packed duels just above the ground. They can be repainted and equipped with upgrades in the virtual hangar, providing even more speed and aerodynamics. In Matchup, players are challenged by the 14 Red Bull Air Race World Championship pilots.
Those who find exciting duels more fun than a pilot career can test their mettle against other players from all over the world in the global Tournament mode. If you want to prove your skill here, you will have to go through the same steps as in the real Red Bull Air Race in tough one-on-one matchups: Training, Qualifying, Round of 14, Round of 8, and Final 4. Additional weekly regional events and, of course, the Virtual Red Bull Air Race World Championship, which qualifies the six winners of the individual events for the grand finale in Las Vegas, provide a change of pace.
No matter what mode you choose in Red Bull Air Race – The Game, only quick reactions and keen instinct will lead to victory in the fast-paced motorsports action. The score includes music from Blitz Kids, who perform the official song of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, and songs from AWOLNATION, Heaven’s Basement, Five Knives, and Beartooth.
