CHICAGO, Nov. 27, 2017 — Redbox, America’s leading destination for new-release movie and video game rentals, this week celebrates 15 years of making home entertainment affordable and easy with a three-day promotion featuring one-night movie and game rentals for just 15 cents. The sweet deals start today, Nov. 27 and end Nov. 29.

“Fifteen years ago, Redbox disrupted the entertainment industry with a simple value proposition that changed the way America consumes new-release entertainment,” said Ash Eldifrawi, chief marketing and customer experience officer at Redbox. “Redbox’s value is timeless and now offers even more with game rentals, movie and game sales, Switch game rentals rolling out in select markets, and new formats on the horizon.”

To mark the milestone, the company revealed the top movie and game rentals of all time*:

In just 15 years, Redbox has rented more than 5.5 billion discs, and still churns out about one million rentals a day, making it the number one transactional home entertainment provider in the U.S. for movie rentals – ahead of other digital rental providers, and all of the nation’s cable and satellite VOD distributors.** Redbox installed more than 1,500 new rental kiosks in 2017, with more planned in 2018. Redbox has more than 41,500 kiosks nationwide, a total larger than the number of Starbucks and McDonald’s locations in the U.S. combined.

*The top Redbox movie and game rentals are based on rental data through November 15, 2017. Game rentals are based on the current generation of game consoles (Xbox One and PlayStation 4).
