Introduction/Information about ReStory

ReStory is a game that plans to release in 2026. In this game, players will run their own electronics repair shop set in mid-2000s Tokyo, where they will grow their business through cleaning and repairing different devices, as well as learn about the story of their customers. Players will also have to make different decisions that will affect the lives of their customers, as well as their repair shop. While I’m not the biggest fan of these simulation-like games, it did pique my interest when I saw you would be repairing electronics (taking apart electronics is a fun hobby I enjoy doing). Playing through the preview demo of the game was very fun for me. I enjoyed fixing machines for the different characters I got to meet, as well as getting to interact with the characters themselves. After playing through ReStory, I would say this game is a fun and relaxing simulation game, especially for electronic heads.

Gameplay

The gameplay for ReStory involves players fixing and repairing different electronics for different customers. The game starts the player out straight into their first day of opening the shop. The store is a mess, so before anything, players will have to clean it up to make things easier and more organizable for later. Whenever players are ready, they can open up shop to start the day. As the day goes by, they will receive devices that need to get cleaned or repaired. To do this, they’ll need to take it apart piece by piece, cleaning whatever piece needs it and replacing whatever parts need replacing. Fixing each electronic for the different customers will give players more about what is going on in each of their lives. That’s pretty much the gist of the gameplay. For me, it was very fun to see and mess with the different devices you would get. Being able to fix each device left me feeling very accomplished, even if it was simply cleaning something out. Finally, the characters so far were very interesting. They each seem to have their own unique story that also connects with each other. This game was also very relaxing just taking the devices apart and putting them back together. I truly enjoyed what I got to play.

Final thoughts

Overall, I believe the game ReStory is a fun and relaxing simulation game, especially for someone like me who enjoys tinkering and messing around with different electronics. I said it before. While simulation games aren’t my favorite genre to play, this was a very fun game for me, and I was very glad to have gotten to try it out. If you are a player who enjoys simulation games and has a major interest in electronics, then I would highly recommend grabbing this game when it comes out in 2026. Players can wishlist ReStory for PC via Steam, as well as join the playtest so that they can get a feel for the game and see how it plays.
