This is Gaming Cypher’s review of Titan Comics’ first Assassin’s Creed Comic by writers Anthony Del Col and Conor McCreery (Kill Shakespeare) with Artist, Neil Edwards and Colorist, Ivan Nunes.
The first part of the Assassin’s Creed Comic series encompasses the main character, Charlotte de la Cruz. Charlotte is very unhappy and feels as though with her level of education (Harvard), she is totally wasting her time in her underemployed position in San Diego, California. She spends all of her free time playing online games, but before she knows what hit her, a real-life conspiracy overtakes her life.
She is recruited to utilize the Animus technology in order to access the memories of her Assassin ancestor, Tom Stoddard, during the Salem Witch Hunt time period. She finds out during her first trial with the Animus Tech that it’s not as easy as it seems, but she is determined to continue and access the needed memories before the Templars capture her and silence her permanently.
I enjoyed the story line tremendously; also enjoyed the smooth and flowing style of writing; I thought that the artwork was phenomenal and I really felt as though I was experiencing part of an Assassin’s Creed game. I look forward to Comic #2.
I recommend a definite BUY for Assassin Creed fans or anyone else for that matter.
You can purchase Part 1 of the Assassin’s Creed Comic on the official website.
