Milestore S.r.l is back with another Motorbike racing game. The Ride series is here with its third installment in the series, Ride 3. It’s almost been more than a year since Ride 2 came out and we provided a review back then.
Rumbling of the exhaust, roar of the engine, and squealing of the brakes fills all of the motorcycle enthusiast with satisfaction. Ride 3 provides all of the above and as usual, the series’ great features as well. Ride 3 starts off with a tutorial that brings you back to the game, giving you controls over the initial race. In addition, a character creator screen lets you customize your player with name, origin, and character clothing.
Ride 3 provides you with a personalized room where players can customize the bikes and add more bikes. There are great many different tracks and different style of motorbikes to provide players with diversity in racing. The game also adds an HDR feature this year for better graphics. The game looks visually stunning at least for the player and AIs in the game; different tracks have been visually eye-soothing to see. Speeding the bike through those locations is one of the best things about the game. However, there are other graphical bugs that can be seen in the game sometimes, which are not that annoying and do not affect the overall gameplay.
The controls have been improvised and easy to use this time. Around the 2nd or 3rd race I was able to get through the bike optimization, which was fun, and it even let me tweak my motorbike the way I wanted to. It was fun and something that intrigued me to play with some more. The game has different weather conditions that affect your controls. I did notice the overall gameplay and controls are great improvisations from the previous game in the installment and as usual the developers have rewind feature carried out from the previous games. RIDE 3 has a credit and reputation system that with every race provides players with some based on ranking and allows player to buy customization from engine, gear box, wheels, and brakes to body details of the motorbike.
The music this time around has been an addition that stood out even though the previous games had it. Overall RIDE 3 has been a great upgrade to last year’s Ride 2 and for the motorcycle enthusiast, it is going to be a game that most of them would want. Even though there are minor bugs and glitches the game is definitely a fun ride. I would give it 8.5 stars.
