SHADOW OF THE ROAD Unveiled by Owlcat Games Featuring Blend of CRPG and Turn-Based Combat

Developer Another Angle Games and publisher Owlcat Games are thrilled to present Shadow of the Road, a masterful CRPG and turn-based combat game set in a different Japan during the 19th century. One of Owlcat Games’ debut products, Shadow of the Road exemplifies the qualities around which the new publishing division is based: a compelling story, a distinct world, turn-based combat mechanics, and a cast of nuanced and compelling characters. The game is slated to launch for PC via Steam.

Discover the intricate fabric of a different 19th-century Japan in Shadow of the Road, as the Boshin War draws to a cruel and deadly conclusion. Gamers will be submerged in a universe that blends steampunk technology with Japanese mythology, tradition and modernity. Enter the conflict between the Shogun and the Emperor, immerse yourself in gripping storylines, and guide a varied band of explorers through a vibrant, magical world where choices determine fate.

Shadow of the Road Key Features:

• Your Story: Come along on a risky adventure with Tokugawa’s spymaster, who enlists the ronin warriors Satoru and Akira to guard a youngster who possesses enormous, uncontrollable powers. They are joined by other individuals as the quest gets more intense; each character has a backstory and a purpose. They take on more difficult tasks together in an effort to regain their honor and turn the tide of the conflict.
• Your Choices: Each decision these characters make shapes their own pathways and ultimately shapes who they become. Whether individuals make new connections, break off longtime friendships, or restore family relationships will depend on the decisions they make.
• Your Team: Assume the role of a brilliant strategist and lead a cast of individuals with a range of experiences and abilities, each with their own goals, anxieties, and motives.
• Your Fight: Take part in turn-based fighting with a tactical samurai feel. Every team member has special skills to provide the battlefield, and each interaction is influenced by their connections and personal objectives. To lead the squad to victory, become an expert in these dynamics and tactical moves.
