About TOMB RAIDER
The TOMB RAIDER franchise has sold over 63 million copies worldwide. The original game led to one of the most successful video game film adaptations in history, with the 2013 reboot inspiring a new blockbuster film that embodies the game’s signature survival action style. Its protagonist Lara Croft has been a contemporary global icon for over two decades. The most recent release in the world famous franchise, Rise of the Tomb Raider has received over 100 “Best of” nominations and awards, and is one of the highest rated games. All of this continues to make TOMB RAIDER a destination brand for action-adventure.
LARA’S EVOLUTION
Lara Croft is finally becoming the Tomb Raider we’ve known for over two decades. In this three part origin story (The Survivor Timeline), Lara has been growing from a woman doing anything she can to survive to one who can thrive in any dire situation. This game promises to highlight the Tomb Raiders unique ability to adapt to her surroundings featuring a upgraded stealth game mechanic where Lara will become one with the jungle. Embracing her role as the warrior against the supernatural and Trinity in this installment she will face challenges bigger than ever before. Developers say this game will deliver Lara Croft’s defining moment.
Even with a new location and motiff the game feels like home, playing through one of the last two games again, but with new twists and improvements. Puzzles can now be deadly and SOTTR will feature even more tombs for Lara to raid. The development team has made an effort to make the tombs this time around much creepier and tomb-like than ever before, they are even below ground. The cinematics are beautiful as to be expected and highlight some wonderful people and traditions of Mexico. The interaction with NPC crowds seems to be improved as well, actually having to squeeze through a group of people as they celebrate creates a pretty delightfully rich atmosphere especially while she’s trying to conceal her identity as a wanted woman by Trinity.
Take a Look at these Gorgeous New Screens:
The scope of this game seems to cover insurmountable odds to combat with Trinity lackies and even to Lara’s inner battle of morality. It is clear that they’re trying to eclipse the previous challenges faced by the Tomb Raider in other games.
