Strategy games are one of kind, always interesting and something new even though we play the same maps repeatedly. But it is more fun when you have multiple different and challenging maps to play from. Developed by Blowfish Studios, Siegecraft Commander is an interesting and an amusing strategy game. I was kind of surprised when I saw the gameplay which tempted me to play this game.
Siegecraft Commander in a way is like other strategic games, building base and getting resources but still different than normal. In this game, the player starts with a Keep, which allows you to build outpost, armory, ballista’s, library, and a lot of different buildings. But every time you want to build a base, it is shot out as a guillotine, and in always connected through walls. It is a bit confusing after a while. The outposts are used to advance through the whole map and they have all the building available to build. They can build all the buildings which a keep can. There are energy resources and gold resources which are used to unlock some specific buildings and weapons. If the parent building is destroyed, it also destroys all the child buildings that were created using that specific parent.
The way to play the game is to reach the enemy keep and destroy it. There is air base which attacks our building, ballista is used to defend, creating barracks to create Warriors to be sent out. I normally go with barracks and ballista combo. Sometimes I use armory to attack using landmines. It’s a lot of fun to try out different thing and penetrate the enemy base. The game does not have any specific storyline, just a kingdom travelling in airship crash landed and they are moving forward destroying the enemy keeps level after level.
Siegecraft Commander has evolved so much during this couple of weeks, since I started playing the game, the UI changed, also they have started to solve a lot of bugs which the game had earlier. Also the improvements are great as well.
The only problem sometimes with the gameplay is it is confusing where to setup the Barracks and other buildings sometimes because of wall it becomes confusing to create the whole setup and a lot of construction feels wasted. Still the developers has thought a lot and then they have designed it, and I do hope they come up with a lot of improvements in the game and the gameplay itself.
As a conclusion, I would like to say, this game has a lot of potential, and can also be improved, it is still a fun game. I would like to give this game 8 stars out of 10.
