Skydrift Infinity is a fast paced racing game developed by Digital Reality and published by Handy Games and THQ Nordic. This game is a new take on challenging arcade racers. Players fly planes through multiple levels and environments, racing against other pilots or time. This arcade fast-paced racer is unlike any other, and pushes the limits ofo flying games.
When you launch Skydrift Infinity, you are given the option to play the campaign, multiplayer, or local multiplayer. I first tried the campaign, and had a blast. The game has tons of levels and challenges for players to complete, as they race against AI’s to compete in the most challenging racing tournaments. I think the campaign was a great introduction to the game, and was able to teach me the controls and mechanics.
I then tried to play the multiplayer, but I could not find a game to get into. I then invited some friends over to play the local multiplayer. This game mode allows you and your friends to play split screen against each other as you all race to the finish line. I found this gamemode to be extremely fun, and reminded me of the older arcade games that I have played with friends, such as Mario Kart. Racing against other players is most definitely harder than playing against bots in the campaign. Each race that my friends and I competed in were always extremely close and stressful, and we had a blast playing Skydrift Infinity.
There were a couple things that the developers added that I really liked. Before the race starts, each player is able to customize their plane color, model, weapons, etc. I really liked the customization of the planes, as it allowed for different players to have different playing styles. Once in the race, players are able to use different weapons and power ups to help them. This addition definitely made the game feel like a retro arcade game.
Overall, I really enjoyed playing Skydrift Infinity. I think players of all ages can play this game either by themselves or with friends. Skydrift Infinity’s gameplay can be compared to Mario Kart or other racer games like that. No, the game itself is not as well known or refined, but the gameplay itself is just as fun. I would highly recommend playing this game with family or friends, and would award it an overall rating of nine out of ten.
