Bloodborne Cart is having to go through a re-branding thanks to Sony coming after them for branding their product in the Bloodborne branding without the proper licensing being paid for. @b0tster, the creator of Bloodborne Cart, sent out a tweet saying Sony reached out to them asking them to cease and desist.
This comes as a surprise to literally no one. Sony loves to keep their brands close to the chest. Bloodborne is one of the most beloved PlayStation exclusives to come out on PlayStation. Fans of the game have been asking for a remaster or at the very least a patch that would allow for 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5. Yet, they refuse to do it even though they’re shutting down this small game based on the franchise.
This brings up a new question, why does Sony continue to hold down this IP to PlayStation 4 with no patch or remaster? A lot of Sony’s biggest exclusives, like God of War, Uncharted, and Horizon, have made their way to PC. The Last of Us Part 2 recently received a remaster for the PS5 even though it already had a patch that allowed for 4K and 60 frames per second on PS5.
Nobody asked for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered to come out. However, fans of Bloodborne have been begging for a PS5 remaster, PC port, or even just a patch. Yet, there is no sign of there being anything in the works. It seems like this would be a guaranteed home run, so the only thing I can imagine is From Software just doesn’t want to do it. I’m sure, though, one of Sony’s other smaller companies could handle the remaster or port themselves without having to get From Software to do it. We’ve already seen Demon’s Souls remade for the PS5 by Bluepoint.
Only time will tell if Sony will wise up and deliver Bloodbourne to the people in a new way. Until then, the closest you can get to wet your Bloodborne whistle is this cart game. Unfortunately, it has been delayed due to the cease and desist issued by Sony.
