This month Square Enix Collective features a tactical starship fleet survival game, two entirely different platformers as well as a futuristic racing game that includes hacking and already has a demo. What do you think? Can you help these indie devs and Help Make Something Awesome?
Take a look at the following projects and see if you’d like to support any of them:
- XO – by Jumpdrive Studios – command a ragtag fleet of starships against an unbeatable enemy. You’ll be evacuating refugees, scrounging for resources, overcoming political treachery, and assembling your flock from one jump point to the next. Your goal is to lead what’s left of humanity out of reach from the unknown threat that pursues. Watch the trailer here.
- Pankapu: the Dreamkeeper – by developer Too Kind Studio – an episodic platform/Action video game in 2D side scrolling, told in the manner of a fable in high color illustrated stages. The player controls Pankapu, a shadow warrior traveling across the oneiric world Omnia to strike down the nightmares which try to invade humans. In his rites of passage quest, he encounters a variety of characters who help him, guide him or fight him but who, whatever happens, make him change both physically and mentally. From this journey, he will learn that all is not black or white and that things are not always what they seem to be. The storytelling is the central part of the game, because we want it to have an impact on the players and make them think about it, as happens in a traditional tale. Watch the trailer here.
- Sprint – by developer MJS Level One Entertainment – Sprint is a 2D side scroller action platformer, inspired by timeless classic 2D pixel platformer games. Players will move from one end to another while battling enemies, collecting pickups, and solving puzzles. There are a total of 5 levels to explore. At the end of each level, players will fight a boss. These bosses are being controlled by the game’s main antagonist, Dr.Z. Players must save the boss from Dr.Z. After defeating each bosses, they are liberated from Dr.Z and will join you in your subsequent battle against Dr.Z. There are a total of 5 different bosses, each with their own unique attacking abilities to acquire before the final showdown with Dr.Z. Watch the trailer here.
- Ayo The Clown – by developer Cloud M1 – Ayo the Clown is a 2.5D side-scrolling platformer reminiscent of genre favorites like Mario and Donkey Kong. What sets Ayo the Clown apart from traditional platformers is its sense of adventure, light puzzle elements, and RPG influence. Like the Legend of Zelda series, Ayo’s potential isn’t realized at the game’s outset. You will collect skill upgrades and extra hearts that add to your overall life as you progress through this lush world. Watch the trailer here.
So head on over to help support these great indie projects and let us know which ones are your favorites.
