BioWare announced that Star Wars: The Old Republic non-subscribers who haven’t logged in a while, should do so, to avoid losing their named characters.
All free-to-play users with characters below level 10 who have not played in 60 games will be at risk to lose their names. Free-to-play Characters under level 30 who have not played for 120 days are also at risk.
Preferred Status players who haven’t logged in 90 days might lose names belonging to characters under level 10, as well as those belonging to characters under level 30 who have not played for 180 days.
All characters above level 30 are safe, regardless of member status.
At risk characters will be flagged for renaming, and if another, active player wants their name will be able to get it.
So if you haven’t logged in a while and want to keep your character names, then log into SWTOR before 11:59 PST on November 11 to avoid this.
