Introduction/Information about Sultan’s Game
Sultan’s Game is a game that was released recently on Steam on March 31st, 2025. This game is a card-based narrative strategy game where players will take part in a cruel, twisted game requiring players to make dreadful choices in order to complete the game’s challenge within each week, all in hopes of stopping the game. When I first started playing this game, it felt very, very confusing. After playing through some runs of the game, I began to better understand the rules of the game and how they work. After playing through Sultan’s Game, I would say that this game is a well-made, thought-provoking strategy game where every decision truly feels like it matters.
Gameplay
The gameplay for Sultan’s Game is well made and feels very complex. The rules of the game are as follows. The player will draw a card with a tier. The player must meet the requirements needed to break that card within the time limit of one week, or they lose the game. There are 4 types of cards, and the requirements will depend on the tier of the card. Carnality requires the player to fulfill acts of pleasure. Whether it’s with their loved one or not, as long as it fulfills the requirements of the card. Of course, whoever is chosen may end up bringing about consequences. Bloodshed requires the player to kill someone. It doesn’t necessarily matter who, as long as it can break the card. Making these decisions was really hard for me, mainly since I didn’t really want to kill anyone with my hand. Conquest requires the player to take over land and claim a military victory. I found conquest cards to be one of the easier cards to fulfill when it came to decision-making. As long as you have good strategy and equipment, these cards won’t be too hard to break. Extravagance requires players to spend money irresponsibly, like it doesn’t matter. I think the hard part when dealing with these cards is making sure you gain enough money so that you can spend it all in order to break the card. The less money the player has, the harder it becomes to destroy these cards. In order to stop this sick, twisted game and survive, players must use whatever they can at their disposal, as well as make sure each and every decision they make can produce the most favorable outcome for them.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I believe the game Sultan’s Game is a well-thought-out and provoking strategy game where every decision feels like it will affect the outcome. This game was a very unique game for me to try out, and while I still have some trouble understanding everything I need to do, I genuinely love how everything in this game feels planned and thought out. If you are the kind of player looking for a new and unique strategy game with a big twist, then I would recommend this game.
