The strategy oriented war game, Tank Warfare: Tunisia 1943 by developer Graviteam and publisher Strategy First, Inc., is a fairly simple one that offers a couple of game modes, quick battle and campaign. There is not much otherwise, with both of those play styles there are only five events that can be played. Even still, it is a challenging game, especially for someone who is new to this type of strategy game.
If you are new to war strategy games, the tutorial section is going to be your best friend. There are a lot of actions that you will need to learn to control your troops in the battlefield. When on the debriefing map for example, you’re given a layout of your troops positions, you can choose to change where they are located to form better defenses or the best way to attack. And in the actual battle field, you can select an entire squad and move them to where the action is taking place.
The tutorial sessions are useful, but it was my least favorite part of the game, because there were so many and they were very tedious. Every point in was covered in the tutorials, which made them pretty long, and for someone as fast paced as myself, it can get pretty boring. It wasn’t just the tutorials that were long though, the missions were long and tedious as well. For one of the missions I had to continually fast forward it until some action stated to happen, which is understandable when the missions follow what actually happened, but again, it can get boring.
What I liked about this game the most is that it has a historical background to the campaign missions. The events were based on actual battles that happened during WWII. And the graphics for the type of game it is were good, as well as the sound effects, I think they nailed that part.
The content that was in the game versus the amount of time it took to actually learn how to play, I don’t think is worth it. Unless you happen to be someone who likes the slow-paced battlefield strategy style, I would only recommend this game to experienced strategists who are just looking for a way to kill time.
I would rate this game 4/10.
You can find Tank Warfare: Tunisia 1943 on Steam for $33.99.
PC Review

4/10
I was first intrigued by video games when I was about 10 years old, starting with the Playstation 2 and the original Xbox. When I was thirteen I was able to get my own Playstation 3 and ever since then I have been an avid gamer. Though consoles are great, especially with the exclusives that they offer, I enjoy gaming on PC because it can offer so much more than consoles can. Last year I built my first PC and I can definitely say I will not be going back to console anytime soon.
I'm into just about any genre of games, but my all time favorite is of course first person shooters, that being said the game that I currently have the most hours played is Rainbow Six: Siege.
