The Best Gaming PCs

Gaming on console is like watching your favourite Hollywood movie in the comfort of your home, but gaming on a PC? That’s something completely different altogether. That’s like sitting in comfort at an iMax cinema and watching the same film on the wide screen with surround sound pulsing in your ears.

Since the pandemic more and more people have been upgrading their gaming experience and jettisoning their consoles in favour of gaming PCs to play everything from Call of Duty to their favourite online games. Having a good setup is vital if you’re playing poker games which can take hours before a winner is crowned.

Unfortunately, though there are plenty of barriers for the uninitiated from confusing computing jargon to the biggest stickler of all – price. Sadly we can’t do much about the latter but we can help with the former by listing out some of the best gaming PCs on the market that you can buy right now.

Read on to find out what they are:

Acer Predator Orion 3000 – The Beginner’s Option

In terms of a beginner set up it really doesn’t get much better than this PC from Acer. It comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM and can handle a graphics card up to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti.

Also, Amazon are currently selling this PC with 1TB of storage for £999.97, so for a first-time effort it’s pretty affordable. The main drawbacks are that it’s not ideally suited to playing in 4K and that the keyboard and mouse leave a lot to be desired.

It is however well-organized and easy to access which makes upgrading it easy, even for those with relatively little experience in computers. Finally it’s incredibly stylish and will go some way to filling the void left by your shiny new PlayStation 5.

HP Victus 15L – The Budget IOption

If all you’ve ever dabbled in is consoles you might have been somewhat disheartened to see us referring to a gaming PC that costs just a few pennies under a grand as “affordable”.

Unfortunately though PC gaming isn’t cheap, but what we can say is that you will definitely see it as a good investment in time.

If £1,000 is just slightly out of your price range though you could go for the HP Victus 15L which is probably the best budget PC on the market right now. With an Intel Core i7-13700 CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 360 graphics card this PC will give you a solid gaming experience on most titles.

It’s currently on sale at Curry’s for £699 but, if you can hold off, it could be due for a future price decrease ahead of Black Friday.

Corsair Vengeance i7200 – The Aesthetic Option

Now we’re started to dig down into the specifics with a gaming PC that is suited to those playing the most visually stunning and realistic games on the market. In short, if you’re going to be spending most of your time playing poker and Football Manager this isn’t the PC for you.

If however you’re going to be spending your time exploring detailed open worlds and playing AAA first-person shooters, this is the PC for you. It has the best RGB lighting of any set up out there at the moment and has some really powerful, gaming oriented hardware.

It has room for storage up to 2 TB, can accommodate an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card and can hold up to an Intel Core i9-10850K/AMD Ryzen 9 5900X processor.

The Best Option(s)

Okay we have to admit it, we couldn’t choose an outright Number One so instead, we’ll leave it to you to decide which of the following two PCs are the best…

Alienware Aurora R15

This PC will immediately catch your eye with its stunning design, but what will also capture your attention is the powerful components packed inside the case that make it one of the best options out there at the moment.

Upgrading is a bit more difficult than we would like but that’s because of the sleek and compact design of this PC. Although if you can afford the top of the range option then you won’t have any need to upgrade this set up for a good while.

(Just!N Tech reviews this PC and features gameplay from COD and The Witcher.)

Lenovo Legion Tower 5i

We just couldn’t categorically say that the Alienware Aurora R15 was the best PC on the market because it would mean completely overlooking this one.

The Lenovo Legion Tower 5i is cheaper than the aforementioned Aurora and whilst not as powerful is in the top 5% for almost every type of gaming category. It’s also, if you ask us, a pretty nice PC to look at.
