The second day of Call of Duty Championship 2013 has concluded and here are the stats.
The Upper Bracket matchups have concluded, and Envyus has secured their spot in the final competition. The Lower Bracket continues to battle for placement against Envyus, and all teams are currently in the money.
The early story in the Upper Bracket was the dominance of the North American teams. There were six North American vs European matchups in the 1st round, and each one swung for the NA side. Combined with the victories of SoaR and EnVyUs, all eight of the 2nd round teams were now from North America.
There were some challenges to previous untouched teams though, as Fariko Impact and compLexity both dropped their first maps of the tournament.
In the 2nd round, the marquee matchup was definitely between OpTic Gaming and Fariko Impact. These two teams had one intense match after another, with Fariko Impact closing it out in the final seconds of Hardpoint on Hijacked. The 3-1 result ensures the team at least a top 6 result.
