Tokyo Game Show 2018 Announces Latest Booth Summary 668 Exhibitors and 2,338 Booths

A scale blowing away the previous record, the largest ever – 668 Exhibitors / 2,338 Booths

TOKYO GAME SHOW 2018 (Organizer: Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association [Abbreviation: CESA, Chairman: Hideki Hayakawa], Co-Organizer: Nikkei BP [President: Suguru Niinomi], Period: September 20 to 23, Venue: Makuhari Messe / hereafter “TGS2018”) announces various information concerning exhibitors as of September 5.

Largest in history, 668 exhibitors / 2,338 booths as of Sep. 5th

As of September 5, 668 exhibitors (final count last year: 601) with 2,338 booths (final count last year: 1,930) are expected ― both are the largest-ever scale. (The number of exhibitors greatly exceeded the record number of 614 in 2016 and the number of booths is much higher than the record number of 2,009 in 2015). The number of domestic exhibitors exceeds 300 for the first time and marks 338 (final count last year: 292). The number of overseas exhibitors is 330, increased from 317 in the last year.

Booth overviews and the preliminary total number of game titles have been released. As of September 5, 1,322 titles are expected (final count last year: 1,042). The exhibition is expected to include game titles in a wide range of genres and for a variety of platforms such as game console, smartphone, and PC, from the hot titles featured in the e-Sports competitions to the latest games supporting the VR (virtual reality).

The final number of game titles, an overview of booths, and other event information are scheduled to be released in the morning of the first day of TOKYO GAME SHOW 2018 (Thursday, September 20th).
