Wroclaw, Poland – inXile Entertainment and Techland Publishing have released a deep-dive video that lets players take a look into the fascinating setting behind the upcoming RPG science- fantasy epic, Torment: Tides of Numenera.
The game is developed by many of the same members who worked on the original and much acclaimed RPG classic Planescape: Torment. Torment: Tides of Numenera takes place in the extensive world of Numenera, a science-fantasy rich setting created by roleplaying game legend, Monte Cook. The game is set a billion years in the future, in a place called the Ninth World where eight previous civilizations have risen and fallen. What remains of humankind is trying to come to grips with all the mysterious and often deadly technology – known collectively as numenera – that these past civilizations have left behind. It is in this turbulent world that players are dropped into literally head first.
inXile Founder Brian Fargo had this to say to fans:
“We just came back from a really successful showing at Gamescom where we were thrilled by the reception. We really appreciated both the fans who enjoyed our preview and the journalists who came to see us and praise our efforts. Winning some of the best RPG awards was a great feeling for the team. I’ve always had a special place in my heart for Role Playing Games, I consider it an art form and a genre that invokes more emotions than any other. The feedback from the show energizes us as we moved towards finalizing the gold master for release into the wild.
