Surface ID, a Montreal-based product development firm, today announced that their Kickstarter campaign for the Tstand, a multi-purpose tablet stand designed to maximize the usability of tablets, has reached over 1600% of its initial funding goal with 51 more hours to go. The Tstand provides a sleek solution to the ergonomic shortcomings associated with tablet usage.
Having achieved $162,000 in pledges with over 2,500 backers, it is clear that the Kickstarter community believes in Tstand.
Over the course of the campaign, the developer has gotten a lot of resistance from backers and press due to the “look” of the stand. Indeed, their approach to holding and using a tablet is definitely different, but they are committed to delivering an amazing product that works great, and adds a great deal of value to users’ lives. As much as everyone likes to make fun of the Tstand as a “Netflix binge-buddy,” Tstand solves a very real and overlooked problem when it comes to tablet use.
