Ubisoft has announced that one of its websites has recently been hacked and urged users to change their passwords.
The company advised that ““Out of an abundance of caution, we also recommend that you change your password on any other website or service where you use the same or a similar password.”
Meanwhile, Ubisoft has closed off the unauthorized access, and has started a “thorough investigation with relevant authorities.”
The firm said since data illegally accessed from the account database includes user names, email addresses and encrypted passwords, it would be best to change any Ubisoft website password, and probably your Uplay password just to be safe – the online service was not mentioned in the press release.
