WANDS 1st-Person VR Experience Releases New Update on Steam

WANDS 1st-Person VR Experience Releases New Update on Steam

Developer Cortopia Studios has released Update 1.3.6 for their first-person VR game, Wands, which introduces dynamic environments, new spells and in-game events:

Dynamic Environments

  • Aspis Prison – Trespassers will be punished after the rising magma awakens the undead warden
  • Temple of Ophidian – Its hidden stone traps have felled many legendary wielders. Beware!
  • Celestial Halls – Houses a mysterious portal that grants a wielder more energy but also makes them frail
  • Ortus Station – Trains carry cargo whose energy can be harnessed to temporarily teleport for free
  • Dead Masters Vale – The Master’s mercurial crystal occasionally heals or attacks the nearest wielder.

New Spells

  • Disc of Antioch – A disc that bounces around for a while. Makes for an interesting choice in corridors or to bounce under shields but with more precision than electric fist.
  • Cerberus Collars – Based on an idea from our community member DanyTangle. Explodes if someone leaves the tile within 3 seconds after entering the area where the collar is cast.

In-game events

The developer is excited to introduce in-game events with this patch. What this means to you as a player is that you’ll be able to participate in regular events happening in the game with your own leaderboards and rewards. The leaderboard text in the menu will flash to indicate of new in-game events.

In addition, the developer is working on Update 1.3.7, in which they will be focusing on making Wands more accessible and understandable for a wider audience.

They are also working hard on major release 1.4, in which they will be releasing the wardrobe, where you can select between several different characters and your own look. A whole new arena, new spells and a tutorial mode are also in the works.

Wands is available for PC via Steam for $14.99 and supports HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. You can find out more information and for the full patch notes just head on over to the official website.
