Smarter Smartphone Games
We enjoy a good challenge now and then. Something that puts our minds and reflexes to the test. Challenges can come from everywhere, and there are some extreme challenges while gaming on mobile devices. Mobile games can be considerably more difficult in some circumstances. After all, to break into an already competitive mobile game industry, creators do everything. Anyone looking for a challenge needs to look no further than the most challenging mobile games!
Have you ever felt like throwing your controller across the room when a game becomes too difficult? A controller costs around $50, but try doing that with your phone, and you’ll be wishing you hadn’t. You can’t help yourself sometimes, especially when you’re playing a game that appears to be simple but turns out to be one of the most challenging things you’ve ever attempted. On the other hand, these types of games may be just up your alley if you want a good challenge or need a break from deaths and retries.
Dead Cells
The entire globe is a massive, linked map that you can explore at your leisure. It does, however, have a rogue-like feature of eternal death. Because dying resets your life, you quickly learn to master new skills. The game’s non-linear growth, addictive gameplay, and a variety of power-ups make it a lot of fun. That said, you’ll die a lot in this one, which makes it difficult.
The Impossible Game
You might believe this game is challenging after your first 12 deaths. If you don’t know what you’re doing or accidentally tap your screen to jump too soon, you’ll die in the same area every time. The Impossible Game has a straightforward presentation and basic premise which conceal a game that demands patience and perseverance, so if you’re the type to quit after a few dozen deaths, don’t even try it.
The small square on your screen is constantly moving, and you have complete control over when it jumps. If you step on a spike or fall into a pit, you’ll have to start over from the beginning. How’s that for a level playing field! You may try to complete the first level in one sitting because it just takes a few minutes, but you can thankfully set checkpoint marks to make your journey a little easier. Even if you succeed, escaping death is nearly impossible.
Swing Copters
Do you recall the game Flappy Bird? The same devs have returned with another rage-quit game, and it does not disappoint. You are in charge of a tiny monster with copter blades on its head. All you have to do is tap and modify its trajectory as it rises through the air, dodging obstacles and swinging hammers. Unfortunately, we only got a score of 18, and it wasn’t easy. The little copter critter appears to develop its own thinking when it begins to move on its own, and no matter how quickly or precisely you tap, you will crash. So go ahead and give Swing Copters a shot and see if you can top our high score.
Splashy Fish
Splashy Fish is based on the now-defunct Flappy Bird app. Navigate the sea while avoiding the pipes; each screen touch causes the fish character to jump. The higher the fish jumps, the faster you tap. There have been a host of Flappy Bird knock-offs to feed the Flappy Bird cult’s addiction, but Splashy Fish appears to be a popular and equally challenging alternative.
Duet
Duet is one of the most complex mobile games available today. Kamuobius created the game, and it is one of the most difficult to master. The game is played with two balls, and the player must keep them in sync against all odds. The gameplay may appear simple, yet it is one of the most challenging games available today.
Final Fantasy IV
Final Fantasy IV is one of the most challenging JRPGs on any console. Even the standard edition of the game is complex. This is not the same game that was released for the SNES. A hard option is also included in the game, which tears players to shreds. Even long-time fans of the series struggle with hard mode. However, beneath the challenge lies a compelling plot, a fantastic soundtrack, and countless hours of entertainment.
Tilt to Live 2: Redonkulous
Tilt to Live 2 is so complicated that it’s redonkulous. No, I’m serious. If you thought bullet hell shooters were bad, this game elevates them to the level of Space Invaders. You have to tilt your smartphone to move around; all those bullets and red orbs make it challenging to avoid them. Its never-ending, furious action will undoubtedly put your reflexes to the test, but wait till you get into a boss fight.
Bosses arrive at random and are tough to defeat. You take damage when you fly through a certain number of targets, but dodging all of their bombs and revolving bullets can be tricky. Finish a boss and hope you don’t have to face another for some time. Classic mode is challenging enough on its own, but if you enjoy feeling like a loser, try Code Red mode. All those red orbs might make you want to throw in the towel.
