With its first-ever worldwide esports championship and the most competitive event in the game’s history, Embark Studios’ THE FINALS is leveling the playing field. The Grand Major 2025 will be performed live on November 28 and 29 at DreamHack Stockholm. The best 16 teams in the world compete in this two-day esports tournament, which is the culmination of an eight-month competition that saw over 1,600 teams from North America, Europe, and Asia compete during the open qualifiers.
The Grand Major, which will be held at DreamHack’s Game Stage in Hall B, will have a $100,000 USD prize pool, a full live arena, and international broadcasts in Chinese, Korean, and English. The event will also include community hosts, casters, creator features and on-site fan activations. Official in-game team revenue-share bundles are also available for all 16 participating teams, giving fans a direct means of supporting the teams and spreading the excitement outside of the arena.
Teams will participate in a Hybrid Elimination format over the course of two days of intense competition. The top four teams advance to The Grand Major, where they will compete in a thrilling Hybrid Matchpoint format, where a team can win the championship with just one victory. A exciting race to championship glory is created by combining these formats with THE FINALS’ distinctive modes and pacing.
Embark Studios is revealing what’s coming up for THE FINALS as anticipation for The Grand Major grows. Embark is beginning the Road to Year 3 with daily teases on their social media platforms, giving fans a sneak glimpse at what’s to come as Year 2 draws to a conclusion. On Saturday, November 29 at 8:30 AM ET/2:30 PM CET, fans can witness the complete Season 9 reveal live from DreamHack at The Grand Major.

Two Days of Live Competition: Teams will compete in a high-stakes format designed for THE FINALS from November 28–29. The Top 8 return for another round of Hybrid Elimination on Day 2 (November 29), which intensifies the competition before the top four move on to the thrilling Hybrid Matchpoint finals. Each round is quick, harsh, and intended to display the best possible competitive play.
