After the recent coverage for Hellblade: Senua’s Saga, the first Hellblade sees a 624% increase in the number of players playing on Steam, according to SteamCharts.com.
The first Hellblade is an absolute classic that I’m sure a few people slept on when it was released back in 2017. It’s currently sitting at an 84 on OpenCritic, with 81% of critics recommending the game. Not to mention, the game is currently on sale on Steam for a whopping $2.99! It’s practically begging you to play it.
The much anticipated sequel will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass for free when it releases this year on May 21. Unfortunately for fans of the game who played it on PlayStation, the sequel will only be available for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will be priced at $50 and will follow in the footsteps on Alan Wake II and be digital only. Some players maybe unhappy with this, like Baldur’s Gate 3 developer, Swen Vincke. However, it looks like this might be the new trend for smaller single-player titles such as this.
Either way, I can’t wait for the release and I will be playing it on day one.

I was born and raised in a town so small there were more cows than people. I joined the USAF as soon as I could, and I currently reside in San Antonio. I am a singer/songwriter on the side, but I've been a gamer since birth. I grew up with PlayStation and Nintendo, though, I don't discriminate between consoles and PC. I have a PC with a 3080, Steam Deck, and a PS5.
