The Pokémon Bank was announced a few weeks ago by Nintendo, and now it’s live in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
In accordance with current users and SerebiiNet, the Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter apps for Pokémon X/Pokémon Y released today as version 1.1 in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, which include a free trial of the services until March.
Once the 30-day trial expires, the apps will require a £4.49/€4.99/$4.99 per year subscription fee.
Initially release in Japan on Dec. 25, the apps were taken down from the Nintendo 3DS eShop a day later due to excessive traffic that overloaded the servers for both the 3DS and Wii U eShops. In addition, the Nintendo Network suffered global outages, which were attributed to linking of account balances for the two eShops. The Dec. 27 North American, Australian and European release of the Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter apps were delayed as a result.
