Ahead of its Friday Steam Early Access release, V Publishing has released the launch trailer (seen above) for its highly-anticipated psychological horror game, My Beautiful Paper Smile (Check Out our Steam Preview!). The title takes on the story of a masked child, raised to be ‘perfect’ by Authorities but now plots their escape from the facility they were raised in.
My Beautiful Paper Smile is a dark, dreamlike horror adventure through a world of strange science, spirits and the dark obsession. Players will explore this nightmare world as one of the “Joyous”, masked children raised in an underground facility, trained to be ‘perfect’, with failure punished (or worse) by the ‘authorities’. The very thought of escape is forbidden, but plans to leave begin forming as a mysterious voice speaks to this child in their sleep.
My Beautiful Paper Smile Key Features:
- Evocative hand-drawn pencil art on a polygon world
- Developed using Unreal Engine 4
- An unsettling, dream-like experience
- A surreal world to explore, rich with mysteries
- Wield strange artifacts to solve esoteric puzzles
- Escape the facility through wits and stealth
- Learn to fear the wandering, deadly Faceless One
My Beautiful Paper Smile will release for Windows PC via Steam Early Access on June 19th and will retail for $14.99 USD. You can play the Demo for free as well as wishlist the game right now.
