ConnecTank Will Be the Third Title to Launch From the Natsume Indie Program!
Burlingame, CA. – September 3, 2020 – Natsume Inc., a worldwide developer and publisher of family-oriented video games, today announced their partnership with indie developer, YummyYummyTummy, Inc. This is the third indie developer to join the Natsume Indie Program. Their first title together, ConnecTank, will launch on consoles in 2021.
YummyYummyTummy was founded by former SiliconEra Founder and Site Director Spencer Yip to push gaming boundaries. The company’s most popular game is the Fallen Legion RPG series for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. The game was featured in Bitsummit and the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s 2017 SAAM Arcade Indie Developer Showcase. The team has been active in growing the indie event scene through creating LA MIX and Indie Games Live, which exhibited at GDC Next and PAX East. YummyYummyTummy has a strong portfolio of edutainment titles, featuring Character Chowdown, a language training game, and Nommons: Math Explorers, in partnership with Fingerprint Play and Sylvan Learning.
“We have had a great relationship with Spencer and his team for years and are happy to finally get to work together on a project,” said Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO of Natsume. “YummyYummyTummy’s dedication to building the indie game community and their experience working on successful family-friendly games across genres makes them a perfect partner for Natsume. We are honored to welcome them and ConnecTank to the Natsume Indie Program.”
“I’ve been fortunate to know Mr. Maekawa and the Natsume team for years and have always admired their commitment to creating games families can enjoy together,” said Spencer Yip, Director of YummyYummyTummy. “We’re honored to join their family of indie developers with ConnecTank and can’t wait to introduce Finneas Fat Cat XV to the world.”
“Pardon me, old bean, I’m Finneas Fat Cat the Fifteenth, owner of Fat Cat Shipping Incorporated,” Mr. Fat Cat interruptedly purred. “We’re the largest overland shipping company in New Pangea and own a fleet of big honking tanks to defend it. We’re recruiting gamers to drive ConnecTanks to deliver goods to customers and greenbacks into my paws.”
